Since 2014

The story behind enhancedgradezz

What began as a single whiteboard and three students crammed into a borrowed classroom is now a place where thousands of learners finally start loving maths, chemistry and physics. Here's how we got here.

Tutor helping a student at a desk

2014

Our very first session

The beginning

Built by tutors who were tired of watching kids give up

Our founder, Dr. Amara Okafor, spent a decade teaching secondary maths before realising the problem was never the students — it was the way the subject was being taught. Long lectures, no feedback, and a rush to the next chapter before anyone had caught up.

She started small: weekend clinics where students set the pace, asked "silly" questions freely, and only moved on once a concept genuinely clicked. Word spread fast, and enhancedgradezz was born.

Milestones

A decade of small breakthroughs

2014

Three students, one whiteboard

The first weekend maths clinic runs out of a borrowed classroom in Leeds. All three students pass with grades higher than they'd ever scored.

2017

Chemistry & physics join the family

Demand pushes us beyond maths. We recruit our first specialist science tutors and open a second location, keeping the same pace-led philosophy.

2020

We go fully online

When classrooms closed, we rebuilt everything for the screen — live sessions, interactive problem boards and recorded walkthroughs. Reach expands from one city to the whole country.

2023

10,000th student

A quiet milestone celebrated loudly. Our alumni now study at universities and apprenticeships across the world — and many come back to tutor.

2026

Still learning, still loving it

Today enhancedgradezz supports learners across three subjects with the same belief we started with: nobody moves on until it clicks.

What never changed

The principles we started with

Everything about how we teach has evolved. These three ideas never have.

01

Nobody moves on too soon

Pace is set by understanding, not a syllabus clock. We stay on a topic until it genuinely makes sense.

02

Questions are welcome

There's no such thing as a silly question. The moment a student stops asking is the moment learning stalls.

03

Confidence before grades

Grades follow when a student believes they can do it. We build that belief first — the results take care of themselves.
